Version 0.9 Released May 2nd, 2003 - Original release. * * * * * * * * * * * * Disclaimer: This work is based on the "The Changes to RNG Methods" thread on GameFAQs (http://s3.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.asp? board=12775&topic=7579523 - although this thread has been locked and purged, no doubt). While this work incorporates some of Terence's research into the RNG (all hail the undisputed master of GS lore, Terence!), as well as some of IronDragon88's research on Djinn types and enemy weaknesses, this work is made by Tuxedo Jack. I don't own Golden Sun or Golden Sun 2. They're owned by Camelot and Nintendo. Now on with the fun! * * * * * * * * * * * * You want the rare items in this game, right? There's a problem. They don't drop as often as you want. This FAQ is designed to give you the RNG methods to get the items you want when you want them. However, I ask that you use it only if stuck. * * * * * * * * * * * * The hard-reset rule (if you don't get the monsters you want, turn the GBA off then on again) applies to EVERY method herein. Also, since you're doing a hard reset every time, you get an automatic surprise attack on the first enemy you fight the next time you turn it on. The Lure Cap is a BIG aid in finding monsters. Get it. Beg, borrow, steal - or just import - it. De-equip any and all items that boost critical hits/unleashes before beginning. All RNG methods were written with a level 50 party. If you're lower than this, feel free to boost the power of the spells you use. Just don't come crying to me when it doesn't work. * * * * * * * * * * * * Weapons Tisiphone Edge Light Blade Attack +178 Unleash: Vengeance Effect: Variable damage. 100 to 300% normal. Side note: I forgot to do a hard reset after getting the Rising Mace and went here without changing anything - i.e. all Djinni set, attack order S/F/J/P, and did that RNG, and I got it on the first try. I retested it with the stated order, and it still worked, so I think I got a fluke on this. I'd love to know what drop percentage it is. If anyone knows, toss me a mail and I'll give you credit in the next update. I can't translate "otafuku." I know fukus are what the schoolgirl outfits in Japan are, but the term otafuku escapes me. Anyone care to translate? You'll get credit! And if you can, translate "hiotoko" too. Arigato gozaimasu! - - - - - Riot Gloves Gloves Attack + 15 Defense + 45 Increases rate of criticals.
